One personal goal of mine is to stay close to gratitude in my heart. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of day-to-day life, but the holidays (and a daily journal rooted in gratitude and positive psychology) are great helpers and reminders to focus on what we have and what we’re already so grateful for. Here’s what I’m grateful for this Thanksgiving.
I’m grateful to my mother in law for always cooking for the holidays. Shep is allllmost at a point where he can entertain himself long enough for me to cook some of our weekday meals, but there’s no way I could take on Thanksgiving yet. On another note, even though I’ve been a vegetarian my whole life, I don’t mind cooking meat for Matt, but I don’t think I can do all the um, turkey prep.
LA > Austin > LA. We’re back in LA for the week and it’s been great. I like that we’re able to come back and visit and see our friends and do all the things we love, then go back to our relaxing home off the beaten path in Austin.
My babies. They’re awesome little people and I’m grateful for them, that I get to be their mama, that all of their individual personalities are fun and sassy and brilliant, and that I get to teach them, learn from them, enjoy them and be wonderfully exhausted by them all at once. It’s beautiful, isn’t it?
Matt. Our nine year wedding anniversary is coming up and I’m so grateful to him for the amazing human he is and for how we’ve grown together over the years.
Family. We’ve had lots of visitors since moving and having our close friends and family visit just makes my heart so happy. We’re surrounded by such great people in our lives.
Adventure. I’m so lucky that Matt and the kids enjoy a little adventure. They’re always up for good fun and a good laugh.
My readers – I’m so thankful. My very first newsletter was one I made in Kindergarten using the copy machine at my grandparents jewelry store. It was “The Friendship Club” and everyone was allowed in but this little boy who once called me on the phone and got me in trouble because I was too embarrassed to say hello to him. Ha! I’ve loved writing my whole life and this gives me such a great outlet to do so many of the things that I love. Thank you SO much for following along – it means so much to me!
Life! For all the little things, and for every day being a fresh chance to live life your way.
Wishing everyone a beautiful Thanksgiving and long weekend!
