Our Staycation in Laguna!
If you've been following along for a while, you know I LOVE to travel with our kids. While it's not always easy, it's always worth it and we have a great time exploring new (and familiar) places together.
We've stayed at The Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach once before, and I couldn't wait to take the kids back over spring break to stay there again. With little ones, easiest is always best. This hotel is impressively close to the ocean, so much so that the sound of the waves lulls you to sleep (or, for some, requires ear plugs). The kids were constantly entertained, from the "tents" the hotel lent them for our stay, to the activities they provide, and of course the easy access to the pool and beach.
I can't say enough great things about the restaurant - when you're travelling, staying somewhere with a restaurant whose menu is diverse enough for you to dine there multiple times from breakfast through dinner (and really enjoy it) - that's an achielvement.
We spent three nights, but I totally could've stayed a whole week! Here are some of the highlights of our trip:
- Walking around the little downtown area. We loved checking out the little shops, from the candy stores to Elana Bulatova Art Studio, and lunch at Tommy Bahama. (They seriously have some of my favorite food. We ate there in Hawaii and I was so excited they have one in Laguna! Amazing flavors).
- Walking a few steps to the pool, then the beach and back again. This kept it so simple for Shep's naps, too. One of us could play with the big kids at the pool and the other take the baby back to the room to nap.
- Dinner at The Montage Hotel. It's beautiful. You have to go there.
